NAD in the News (Part 2)

In our last post, I wrote about the exciting new developments in NAD for treating neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. In this post, I will share exciting new research about NAD for kidney disease and migraines.

NAD+ Treatment Helps Those with Acute Kidney Injury

A recent academic article published just this year in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences reported that “mounting evidence indicates that NAD+ augmentation is beneficial to AKI (acute kidney injury), although conflicting results exist for cases of CKD (chronic kidney disease).” Although we have yet to treat patients with kidney disease at Springfield Wellness Center, one of our associates, Tom Ubl, addressed the 2020 Brain Restoration Summit on his clinic’s use of intravenous NAD (what he calls KR+NAD for “Kidney Restoration”) as an alternative to dialysis in some kidney disease patients. He says:

“KR+NAD is an alternative CKD treatment that, in the limited applications that have been conducted, has enabled 100% of recipients to postpone dialysis. The protocol utilizes NAD+ with complementary treatments such as heavy metal chelation to achieve and maintain stable kidney function, producing dramatic improvements in GFR (glomerular filtration rate) results. The protocols are evolving under the direction of Dr. Daniel Woodard, NASA MD and Institutional Review Board (IRB) participant, towards the goal of funding a larger IRB-approved study.”

NAD Treatments Offer Migraine Relief

Next, our own research demonstrates relief for migraine sufferers. In the first study, an 87-year-old woman with a 50-year history of migraines received NAD/Lidocaine at 100 mg/mL, 0.5% per protocol of 0.5 mL, intranasally into each nostril via sphenocatheter. The patient also was prescribed Real NAD+ (150mg/day) sublingual lozenges over three months. We followed up with the patient at one week, six weeks, three months, and one year. The patient reported no adverse effects and has not had a single recurring migraine. You can see the results on our NAD Research website here.

In the second study, a 55-year-old male patient with disabling PTSD, paranoia, bipolar traits, and migraine/cluster headaches poorly controlled by traditional medications was treated with NAD+ (0.375ml of 100mg/ml) and lidocaine (0.25ml of 20mg/1ml) into each nostril via sphenocatheter. This was followed with treatments at one and four weeks.

After the first session, the patient reported needing less migraine medication and improved sleep.  After three days, he reported less severe panic attacks during the day and a cessation of nightly panic attacks. At one month, the patient reported only mild headaches, and he could taper off quetiapine and oxcarbazepine. You can read the study write-up on our NAD Research website here.
